Healthy Lifestyles

in Healthy Lifestyles

Finding ways to live healthy lifestyles is a challenge to us all these days: errands, jobs, family, friends, demands.

We all know we must fit in healthy lifestyles on our daily agenda. And yet, as we mark off the do list for everyone’s needs, did we forget anyone? Oh, yes, you.

Oh well, there is always tomorrow, and so we make a not very convincing pledge to ourselves that tomorrow will be a more healthy lifestyles day. Much more. Where have we heard that before? Oh right, this morning, making a vow to myself in the bathroom mirror.

Take mini exercises. Walk up that flight of stairs while the sluggards wait for the elevator. You were once one of those- like yesterday. So, make it a fun event, and you will begin to be amazed at the extra smile and cheeky feeling good feeling that you have. In my building, I live on the fourth floor. I have found that if another resident of my floor is alone at the elevator, she is holding the elevator door for me, I say no thanks, and I can somewhat spring up those 4 flights of stairs and step into the hall just as the elevator is dinging that she has arrived. As we smile at each other, who has the guilty look that expresses I should have done that, and who feels zippy as a bunny, as he wheezes trying to control his hand to get the key in the door. But you know my point. It’s up to you to keep it up, practice what I preach. Me too.

Mini exercises can be so refreshing- a walk around the block at coffee break with a good friend, and you may find you somehow loosen up the solution that has been so elusive to the team for weeks.

Many studies have shown the ability of the brain to perform at heightened levels with blood surges from exercise and healthy eating. A plum rather than that birthday bon bon the others are gumming their teeth into would make your body so very happy. It is a natural fact that we are drawn to unnatural foods that have been laced with sugar and chemicals to trap our taste buds. And that we take escalators and elevators to go up one flight in a building, just as our ancestors did on fighting off the tiger.

Our bodies need constant vitamin supplies, which comes best from raw foods, not the junkitos you tend to pick up. Chocolate, and coffee, are two healthy items you can put in your body during the day, in moderation always. The darker the fruit or vegetable, the more nutrients. Bite into a yellow bell sweet pepper, they have twice the anti oxidants of the red bell. Red delicious apples, and best of all, dark plums. You can eat these on the go, every hour or two.

Do it for you. Build in mental attitudes that you will not try to find the parking space nearest the door, which we all do, as we’re in a hurry, need to drive to several other places to get this, get that. Living in a village was much easier, but that is not how freeway designers build. Big box stores all isolated, make it difficult to walk from place to place, that is a fact of modern life. So-fit new habits in where ever you can and enjoy your healthy lifestyles.
